Microsoft Power Bi meets Xero

A special mashup between the Queensland Power BI User group and the Cloud Accountants & Advisors Meetup groups Xero is online accounting software for small and medium sized businesses. It includes invoicing, bank reconciliation, tax compliance, inventory and payroll functionality. Power BI is a cloud-based business analytics service that enables anyone to visualize and analyse data with greater speed, efficiency, and understanding. It connects users to a broad range of data through easy-to-use dashboards, interactive reports, and compelling visualisations that bring data to life. The session brings together these two specialist expert groups to explore connecting Microsoft Power BI with Xero. The session will cover: • A brief overview of Xero • A brief overview of Power BI and a connector pack • Power BI versus Power BI Desktop • How Microsoft Power BI integrates with Xero; • A walk through demonstration of the integration of Microsoft Power BI with Xero • Building a report in Microsoft Power BI from data in Xero • A Xero expert to talk about the business value in the reports • Q and A Bio of presenter: Sonia Cuff is the co-founder of a technology consultancy company called The Missing Chair. Craig Bryden of TetraQuark is a highly experienced Business Intelligence / Data Analytics practitioner using the Microsoft SQL Server products. He presents at SQL Server Saturdays and other community events. Craig’s passion is to help his customers get the most out of their data assets. Craig currently hold a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert - Business Intelligence certification and was previously a Microsoft Certified Trainer.
