I recently attended a yoga session run by Laura Humphrey of Threedom Wellness held at on the grass beside the Surf Club Kurrawa, Old Burleigh Road, Broadbeach. It was a beautiful location. The Gold Coast weather was glorious, cool enough not to sweat and hot enough to exercise. I positioned myself under a tree, so I had a tinkling of sunlight fall on me during the session.
Laura ran the small yoga class catering to all of our abilities. She challenged the more flexible members and accommodated those with injuries or out of condition. While I am a super beginner, and have never done yoga before I felt very comfortable in the class. It was very peaceful experience. I don’t think Laura runs them as a simple yoga class, but hopes participants ‘gain a deeper understanding of their body, their strengths and where they could direct more attention to within their bodies and their life.’ Yes it was indeed a holistic experience, and Laura is wise recognising that ‘each student is on a different path’.
Laura says the benefits of yoga ‘are quite endless, physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, spiritual’. You can read more here about the benefits of yoga.
