We know there are a lot of apps in the marketplace. Beyond the sales pitch, we need to understand technically how they work. I thought a way to solve this would be to run bite-size educational, immersive sessions.

Join us for Lunch and Learn with Accounting Apps. A series of free immersive interactive online sessions to help accounting + bookkeeping professionals stay up-to-date with the Accounting Apps ecosystem. Each session provides an overview of an Accounting App and how your practice or clients could use the solution.

Think of it as:

  • A midday lunch break with your colleagues.
  • Opportunity to keep abreast of the vast ecosystem.
  • Help to find solutions to get jobs done efficiently and effectively.
  • Unleash your inner Indiana Jones, and unveil the hidden treasure of time sitting inside your solutions and data. (OK, my copy robot got a bit excited!).
  • Connect problems with solutions
  • Free CPD (Please confirm with your association).

Upcoming sessions:

17 Aug Cubiko a Practice Intelligence Platform for a medical practice
19 Aug Dear Systems an online inventory management system
24 Aug Cin7 Inventory and Order Management Software
26 Aug WorkGuru Project and Stock Management system for SMBs
7 Sep Canyou collect and store forms licences, certificates and training docs from client businesses

My intention is this runs similar to how the precon sessions. Some sessions are run as NEW FEATURE RELEASE or ADVANCED depending on demand.

Each presentation answers a similar set of questions.

  • A brief introduction
  • Problem solved
  • What works well
  • What it’s not ideal for
  • Integrates with
  • Typical app stack
  • Details pushed into Accounting Solutions e.g. Xero, QBO etc.
  • Set-up process
  • Demonstration
  • Q & A

The sessions are designed to be immersive. All qualified attendees can join the presentation, and by doing so, agree to be part of the Livestream. The Zoom chat area is open for conversations. In this topsy turvy world, it is a digital way to have the conversations you’d have at a conference bar. Receive helpful advice from the community, Aha moments, those, What’s s/he doing that I’m not doing, that I could be doing?

When will they happen?

I know your time is valuable, so I aim to keep this as simple as possible. My plan is to run the sessions every Tuesday and Thursday 12:00 AEST. I’m one unicorn with a lot of robots, so I’ll schedule it and give us both leeway for sessions not to happen. They’ll be one booking link, and you’ll get a reminder that a session will happen, an hour before the session, plus I’ll post the event reminders on socials, plus it will stream live on socials.

To make my life easier, when you register, you are automagically added to my Accounting Apps newsletter. Sometimes zoom loses all registrants, and it consumes a huge amount of time trying to recover. Heather
