Today I totally immersed myself in XERO. I went thru the set-up process again, and detailed everything that was required in the set-up. I created a client information form, which I will send to new clients for them to pre-fill in and send to me, so I can set them up before the training commences. I am feeling quite confident about that.

I have also played around with the chart of accounts and realised that I can customise the profit and loss, so that it has operating profit line and a net profit line which I am really happy about.

I struggled for some time trying to sort out the XERO tax code jargon.

“In XERO what is the difference between GST Exempt and NO GST? What do these translate to in MYOB tax terminology?”

MYOB tax rates translated into XERO tax rates

XERO twitter support @Xero sent me a link to a few support notes, which admittedly confused me more. I was drowning in tax codes. Eventually I came across one simple chart, which I will share with you here that I found useful.

Now that I am a XERO Advisor I have my own XERO support person, and he fielded questions from me all morning.

@LaurusBookkeep was also as always very helpful and suggested I sign up to the www.xerousers.com which looks like a great support site for me.

You may recall I had to cancel my credit card; well it seems I had to deactivate my ANZ feed and reactivate it to link with the new credit card feed.

Feel free to ask me questions about XERO if you are interested in this new exciting product.
