Really keen to start my #15MWC today. That is my 15 minutes per day wordpress challenge, where I learn a bit, and do a bit more to my wordpress site. Today’s work comes at the suggestion of @mattbinoz who tweeted me;
“ 2 things re:blog admin. change title to www name (better SEO) and change ?p=25 style to yyyy/mm/dd/name of article (better google rankings)”
My first attempt to change the title resulting in an accidental blog post, just deleted it. Click settings on the left hand side and voila, there I could change both the title and date setting, and a few other things. Easily done and saved. Interesting the suggestion to change the date to be year first for better google ranking. What do you think about that? I had time left over, so I went to a suggestion from the first person who dropped by and left a comment @AESeawright
If you go to your discussion settings in the WordPress UI you can change the way comment approval works, though I think that the default is you approve the first comment for a new user and then each one after is automatic. I’m not sure about the Avatar image though sorry

On the left hand side under Settings Discussion, I think I have removed the option “An administrator must always approve the comment”. Time and comments will tell! I think I also found the spot to generate a pretty little avatar, but interesting I thought once you were a member of the wordpress community; you could register and use your own avatar. This does not seem to be the case.
Tomorrow I plan to register for an Akismet API key. I don’t have a clue what that means but the top of my wordpress page keeps suggesting I do it.
