This morning I awoke to a computer beeping at me.  That was all it did beep beep beep.  I went through the initial possible fix up solutions.  Turned it off, turned it on.  Turned it off, let it wait for a while, turned it on.  Made efforts to clean the dust away.  Got out the manual – yes there is indeed a section on understanding beep noises – who would have thought?  The manual gave me no solutions I could try myself.  Being a cold Brisbane morning, I decided to turn it off, turn the heater on in the study, and leave the computer to warm up for a while.  It still did not respond to this kindness.  I unplugged everything and took it to CONCORDE COMPUTERS in Morningside.  I parked outside their shop 20 minutes before they opened.  Fortunately they opened a fraction past 9am and Clark from CONCORDE COMPUTERS was able to help me. Now my book said beeps meant a power issue, but Clark said it was a memory issue, my cards that are less than a year old had bit the dust, and have been replaced with 3G of memory – which hopefully as Tim the Toolman Taylor would say “MORE POWER”!
