As a small biz owner who is juggling all the other demands of life, I really enjoy learning by podcast. A recent one I have discovered is Small Business Big Marketing. Tim and Luke interview other small biz owners and highlight the various marketing tactics they have adopted;
· Turn up nude and get a discount at Wicked Campers,
· Celebrity seeding ~ providing products to up and coming celebrities within your target market,
· Blogging & using both the free and paid version of survey monkey
etc.
As a small biz owner you can hear all their tips for free – your cashflow is happy about this! As a podcast, I like the fact that some are listed as ‘explicit’, similar to the guys over at “Business Success Tips” who are always listed as “explicit”. Learning does not have to be boring.
As I listened to the podcasts out of order, the time references were a bit annoying, and there was a little bit of self promotion going on. I don’t mind this, but I prefer “Manager Tools” strategy of doing a separate podcast for self promotion; Hi, here it is, you don’t have to listen to this one if you don’t want to. Though don’t get me wrong a lot of the content is excellent, and if the guys had left out time references and minimal self promotion, they series could easily be packaged as a product you would happily buy.
