Wow what a huge week. A huge week in politics, Angie’s leg attracted hundreds of thousands of dollars publicity and we sadly lost Davy Jones of the Monkees.

When I was at school, I went to see Davy Jones and the Monkees, a timeless boy band creation. One thing that struck me about the Monkees, that if you were introduced to them young, you liked them and you always would like them. Perhaps this is because you don’t have any discerning influences at a young age?

I also revisited my first ever client, and gave them a copy of my book, Learn MYOB in 7 Days, as a thank-you for their faith in me many years ago.

The rumbles you heard were a stampede on consultants attending functions at Hilton Brisbane. Both MYOB AccountRight and cloud based XERO solution came to town, and I heard from both Tim Reed MYOB Australia CEO and Chris Ridd (@Chriss_Ridd) XERO Australia CEO.

Chris Ridd shared with us “The momentum behind the cloud is unstoppable” and case studies show there are “Massive cost savings for businesses moving to the clouds”. To complement this Tim Reed stated “if we remain a provider of only desktop software we will die”. CEO of rival accounting software companies agreeing the solution is in the clouds.
