I was recently notified about a problem on my wordpress blog. I always view my blog through Google Chrome and someone who viewed the blog through Internet Explorer saw it differently to I.
You can see the left hand side viewed through Google Chrome looks relatively normal, however the right hand side viewed through Internet Explorer mashes the background and the text into a confusing garbled mess. It is a good reminder to look at your website through different browser and different viewers.
It seems for some reason the wordpress Twenty Ten theme (their very basic theme) does not appear properly when viewed through Internet Explorer. After much searching Simon Griffiths at www.webxopt.com told me to try installing the modernizr plugin. He said “Modernizr is a JavaScript library that interprets html5 and css3 elements for ie, particularly the lower versions”.
It installed very quickly and immediately sorted out the issue. Thank-you very much Simon!!
